ok ... so if you dont remember, i had a fun lil encounter a few weeks ago with the now infamous PIKO736@AOL.COM tryin to sell me 3500 recording consoles from "europe" for 900 bux (shipping included ... from europe !) ... if not, read bout it here ...
well, either pikos got some friends or i jus look like a rube to internet assholes ... which very well might be, as i think i jus give off that vibe ... even in a crowd at a busy chicago el stop, the one crazy derelict will single me out to ask: "hey man, you got 13 cents ? i need a transfer ! i jus need 13 cents man" ... yeah ... believe me, its not fun havin the aura of a sucker ... specially when yer not ... specially when yer typically a laid back/pacifist type ... cause when people think they can sucker me, it makes me very very angry ... 1. what kinda shmuck are you to try to take advantage of someone else, 2. i wasnt born yesterday ...

Now, I fully believe that people ought to know that if you eat a lot of McDonalds, you are going to get fat, just like the supporters for the bill said. Makes sense.
However, the case was about childhood obesity. Shall the government now take the stance that the people should know that smoking and drinking is bad for you and thus take away age limits on these vices? They're just the same, bad for your health and possibly addictive (those chicken selects are delicious).
And one more thing, doesn't Congress have anything better to do with it's time?

Ok, bad political joke that probably only I get. See its funny because John Ashcroft was said to have been better at quoting the Bible than quoting judicial presedence. In fact, there have been claims that he held disdain for people when they did quote judicial opinions and the such. Harriet Miers is similar because one of the few facts about her that has been used as evidence of her being a good candidate for Supreme Court is she is a member of an evangelical church and is a born again Christian, like John Ashcroft. And like John Ashcroft, she doesn't really have that good of a grasp on Constitutional Law. Hell, even I've read Griswold v. Connecticut and I'm not even in law school. We had to read that for an undergrad constitutional law class. Don't you love jokes that you have explain?
Plus I like how they had the some lawyers and judges from Texas saying she'd be a great judge and experience doesn't matter that much. Which I completely agree because we all know how law-abiding Texas politicians are.

fun with ebay scammers
ok, so im lookin at pickin up a new mixing console, and puttin down some serious cash for this item ... the one that seems to suit me the best is the soundcraft ghost ... i can go into details, but ill spare you ... all you really need to know is that a 32 channel ghost with meter bridge wont go for less then 3000 ... so as im perusing (for probably the 40th time that day) the ebay ads for a soundcraft ghost, i came across this one ... here ... so i check it, says its in palatine IL ... wow, great, i could even pick it up and save on shipping ... but as i scroll down, i realize that its the EXACT same post as this one which i actually bid on and lost ... sad ... anyway, so this guys usin the exact same photos w/ the exact same serial number for the unit and everything ... now, sometimes people will use other peoples photos on ebay and it is totally legit ... now, this is a rareity, but it does happen ... but upon inspection of his # of sales, and who hes been sellin too and buyin from ...
"bing" lights go off, this is a scam ... i dont even need to think about it, this is so clearly clearly a scam, it couldnt be pulled off worse ... also notice in the scammers item; at the top, the category it is listed in is ...

nephews of mine as they are aspiring in the music world, albeit, not to my
tastes ... so perhaps a better question would be, where are you located, so
that i may assess the cost for picking up said items, as time is somewhat an

ok, so heres my dumbed down explanation via an already dumbed down book on an already dumbed down experiment ... it goes like this ...
you can observe a very simplified case of convection by studying a lorenzian waterwheel over a period of several hours ... as one cup fills up and starts to drain, it puts the wheel in motion, allowing the next cup to begin filling up, increasing the tempo at which the wheel spins, but also limiting the amount of time it has to fill up ... after a while, the rotation of the wheel will reverse as the weight on one side has built enough to force it back the other way ... now, to the casual observer, upon first glance at the device, it would appear that either the wheel would spin in one direction with possibly small (but predictable) fluxuations in speed, or that the wheel would oscillate back and forth at a predictable pace ... however, this is not the case ... since the engine is inherently non-linear, it produces unexpected results that are still bound within a certain range, and since there are 3 variables within the equations used to map this device, it is possible to create a 3d map of the data ...
