apologies, friends ... but im back in action ... i needed a week off after our Looptopia - centered event ... i could easily write a handful of blog posts off my experiences down there, but its probably best not to as it will be mostly bitching about crabass artists and horribly bloated city of chicago departments ... and it's best to not stir the pot, cause knowing my luck this site will start to show up in google searches on the subject ... not to mention how much i could bitch about looptopia itself and how they really kinda did us wrong (listing all music for the night on the web and in print as "ATC Music" as opposed to actually printing the band's names which we supplied them with 2 months ago ... awesome!
oh, but hey, this was cool. so saturday night the drastics was suppose to play at the AV-aerie with excellent experimental rockers maurice and our good electronic friends silences sumire (celebrating their upcoming release on RopeADope). however, friday night the AV-aerie got shut down by some combination of cops and city of chicago buildings and licensing personnel. not wanting to be part of the rumor mill, i'll leave it at that as i don't really remember 100% what happened. most likely it's just a temporary closing, albeit annoying. so we ended up having the show up where i work. and it was real cool. you shouda been there.
