the longest day

crap on a stick, its 8:20 and i'm still at work ... actually, this is barely a contender for "longest day" cause during the festivals i have worked several 24 hour shifts, no joke ... i guess better would be "the most annoying and long day" ... see, as the un/official IT guy here at the gallery i work for i am responsible for all things technological ... being a non-profit we have no money which makes all our technology about 4 years old AT BEST ... i've done a pretty good job keepin things goin, including movin all our info onto one PC to make sharing easier, reduce on duplicate copies, etc ... and its worked pretty well for about 1.5 years until las nite when the server wouldn't turn back on (after it was accidentally shut off) ... anyway, this isn't interesting, all i wanted to say is that today was spent building a new computer, which is good, except that i had to make 2 trips to micro-center and 1 trip to staples since i know nothing about PCs anymore (pretty strictly mac at home) .... but now the fucking hard drive is fuckin' up and i have to format/reinstall EVERYTHING and once that's taken care of i have to backup about 160gb from our offsite backup server ... crap on a stick ..... goddamit ... i'm not comin in till 2pm tomorrow ...
